Beryl Ray Mihlfeld

Funeral services for Beryl Ray Mihlfeld, 75, of Grand Ridge, Fla., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at New Beginnings Worship Center in Grand Ridge with the Revs. Willie Butler, Flavious Pittman and Sam Hemby officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

He was born July 21, 1935, in Arcadia, Fla., and died Jan. 24, 2011, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an airman first class. He pastored churches for more than 30 years, most recently at New Beginnings Worship Center in Grand Ridge for the past 14 years.

He was preceded in death by his former wife of 37 years, Betty Mihlfeld.

Survivors include his wife, Luvirn Mihlfeld of Grand Ridge; a son, Kevin Mihlfeld and wife, Daphene, of Fredericksburg, Va.; step-son, Eugene Stewart of Hawthrone, Fla.; four daughters, Sheri Odum and her husband, Tim, of Cairo, Ga., Denise White of Tallahassee, Kimberly Walsh and her husband, Sean, of Fredricksburg, and Teresa Johnson and her husband, Don, of Grand Ridge; two sisters, Bessie Carter of Winder, Ga., and Gladys South of Indianapolis, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family request flowers be omitted and contributions be made to New Beginnings Worship Center Building Fund, 1165 Hwy. 69, Grand Ridge, FL 32442
