Don’t take the nurses away

To Jim Peak, Ralph Jones, Board of Education, Hospital Authority and community leaders:
I was somewhat shocked to learn that a decision was being considered to dissolve the positions of our school nurses due to budget cuts.
I am aware that the economy is not in the best condition at this time, but I don’t think our children should bear the cost!
As a parent of a child with numerous food and other allergies, I feel quite comfortable that when I drop her off at school that if a medical need arises, there is a health care professional on site to administer care to her until she can get to the emergency room.
I am quite sure that there are other children that have some serious medical needs in our school system. I think this would be very detrimental to the health of our children for this to happen. There are other ways to budget these cuts!
These children are our future community leaders! I would like to thank Ms. Bonnie Province for all she has done for the health and care of my child.
Parents, stand up and make your voices heard! Please, please don’t take our nurses!
