The West Bainbridge eighth-grade Eagles and Lady Eagles lost their games against the Thomas County Central eighth-grade Yellow Jackets and Lady Yellow Jackets Thursday in Thomas County.
The Eagles suffered their first loss of the season after seven straight wins when they bowed 44-28.
The Lady Eagles, who are 2-6, lost 33-13 to the Lady Yellow Jackets.
Leading scorer for the Eagles Thursday was Greg Lee with 14 points. B.J, Cheatem added five, Dorian Gadson put in four, Damian Bouie contributed three and Cameron McDowell scored two.
Eagles coach Ell Willis said his team played well but missed a number of shots down the stretch.
“We had our chances” Willis said. “We cut their lead to just five down the stretch, but then we kind of ran out of gas. When you make a scoring run like that it takes a lot out of you. The kids played hard. They just fell a little short.
Leading scorer for the Lady Eagles was Jasmine Belin with 10. Destiny Dawkin added two and Carenshia Kennedy scored one.
