Disaster loans available

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that federal economic injury loans are available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and most private, non-profit organizations of all sizes located in Baker, Decatur, Early, Grady, Miller, Mitchell and Seminole counties in the state of Georgia as a result of an early frost that occurred on Oct. 28-29, 2008. Eligible small businesses and non-profit organizations may qualify for loans up to $2 million. The loans are available at a 4 percent interest rate with loan terms up to 30 years. Loan applications can be downloaded from at http://www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance. Disaster victims can contact the SBA Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Completed loan applications must be returned to the SBA no later than Oct. 5, 2009.
