The Bainbridge High School graduation ceremonies will move indoors tonight, Friday, beginning at 8 p.m.
Principal Tommie Howell said in an e-mail Friday morning, “Because of the extreme uncertainties of our weather, the graduation ceremony of the Bainbridge High School Class of 2009 will be held tonight at 8 p.m. in the Decatur County Memorial Coliseum. Each senior will receive six tickets for distribution to their guests. Audience members need to be seated no later than 7:55. Once the seniors enter, the doors to the arena will be closed.”
The ceremony started Thursday night, but heavy rain started falling about 30 minutes into the ceremony.
It has been Board of Education policy to postpone the ceremony, but keep it at Centennial Field because of the large enough venue to accommodate the crowd; however, rain is forecast for this evening and Saturday morning, which was the third option for holding the ceremony.
