Leah Frances Smith, 13-year-old granddaughter of Carolyn and Harold Kelly and Ed White and the late Mary Frances White of Bainbridge, had an outstanding season for the Oconee County swim team this summer.

The 13-year-old daughter of Terry and Marvelyn Smith of Oconee County won first place in all four of her girls 13- and 14-year-old division events at two big meets.

Competing in the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) District 7 swim meet in Gainesville and the July 25 GRPA state swim meet in Tifton, she was dominant.

She finished first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1 minute, 0.57 second. She was also first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27:15 seconds. She was also a member of the girls 13- and 14-year-old medley and freestyle relay teams.
