Sad loss
The sudden death of John W. McBroom will be a sad loss to Bainbridge.
On Wednesday, the Panama City Department ruled McBroom’s death an accidental drowning and that there were no indications of foul play. On Tuesday morning, his body was found in the water near the pier where he has his sailboat moored in Panama City, Fla.
For 23 years, McBroom has been a successful businessman in Bainbridge, and before that, served his country as a U.S. Army member of Special Forces and as a pilot during the Vietnam War.
McBroom was the epitome of a gentleman—always pleasant, always kind with only kind words to say, and always there to help, whether it was a client, his friends or his community.
Our thoughts are with the McBroom family and particularly with his wife of 47 years, Raquel, their three sons and their families.
