Funeral services for Jack Nicholson, 72, of Colquitt, were held Saturday, Jan. 9, at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Mounts officiating.
Interment followed in Cook’s Cemetery with Robert Thompson, Stacy Thompson, Tracy Thompson, Jason Houston, Israel Houston and Rocky Duncan Jr. serving as active pallbearers.
Born June 30, 1947, Mr. Nicholson died on Jan. 6, 2010, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga.
Mr. Nicholson’s career was in the packing, beverage and food industry serving as director of sales, regional sales manager, vice-president and vice-president of sales for several companies. He served on the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute International Trade Committee. He was elected to the Miller County Board of Education, served on the Miller County Chamber of Commerce Board, and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Nicholson of Leeds, England.
Survivors include his father, Jack Nicholson of Leeds, England; his wife, Jackie Nicholson of Colquitt; two daughters, Gillian Moody of Acworth, Ga., and Ainsley Achey of Macon, Ga.; a son, Jack Duncan Nicholson of Lady Lake, Fla.; two grandchildren, a father-in-law and mother-in-law, three brothers in law, three sisters in law and other family and friends.
Colquitt Funeral Home in Colquitt, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.
