Gussie Calhoun

Funeral services for Gussie Brinkley Calhoun, 84, of Bainbridge, will be held Monday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. at Franklin Baptist Church with the Rev. Conrad Salter officiating.

Interment will follow at the church’s cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home.

Born Nov. 1, 1925, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mrs. Calhoun died on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at her residence.

Mrs. Calhoun was a homemaker and a member of Franklin Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Fredrick Michael Renfroe.

Survivors include a son, Carl Wilson of Florahome, Fla.; three daughters, Paula Clay and Patricia Cunningham of Bainbridge, and Shirley Hollon of Plant City, Fla.; two brothers, Jack T. Brinkley of Columbus, Ga., and David Mack Brinkley of Quincy, Fla.; five sisters, Nell Davis Gaines of Macon, Ga., Sue Harrell of Gainesville, Ga., Ann Silver of Bakersfield, Calif., Hilda Brinkley of Quincy, Fla., and Betty Brinkley of Tallahassee, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
