Snow comes to Bainbridge

It’s finally begun snowing in Bainbridge, after day-long rain and near-freezing temperatures.
The snow began falling in Decatur County at approximately 5 p.m., and a steady stream of snowflakes are currently coming down in downtown Bainbridge. There were reports of snow in Dothan, Ala., and Miller County, Ga. as early as 11 a.m. Friday.
Don’t expect the snow to be there as you read this, as the National Weather Service says less than half an inch of accumulation was possible overnight Friday. Temperatures will be below freezing Saturday morning, allowing any leftover water on roadways to freeze.
The Weather Service’s forecast for Friday evening calls for a 20 percent chance of rain, with it becoming partly cloudy later in the night. The temperature may drop as low as 26 degrees Farhenheit, with wind chill values as low as 19. There should be a wind blowing north-northwest between 10 and 15 mph.
Saturday will be sunny, with a high near 45, with wind chill values as low as 18 early on Saturday morning. The forecast again predicts a wind blowing north-northwest between 10 and 15 mph.
