Seven Hutto Middle School chorus students had the opportunity to travel to Jonesboro, Ga., this year to participate in statewide honor chorus performances. The fifth-grade event took place in November and the sixth-grade event was in February. Fifth-graders Ethan Benton, Patricia Gilliam, Jillian Hawkins and Brittany Thompson, and sixth-graders Kady Kirkland, Maria Mendoza and Bethanie Robinson practiced for weeks in advance to learn all their music, and spent all day Friday and Saturday at the Clayton County Performing Arts Center rehearsing for the performance Saturday afternoon.
