A region-wide affordable housing conference will be held on Tuesday, April 13, at the Family Resource Center in Colquitt, Ga. The conference registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and adjourn at 3:30 p.m. City and county governments, local planning commissions, development authorities, builders, bankers, Realtors, non-profit agencies, and any other community leaders that are interested in affordable housing issues are encouraged to attend. The sessions will include topics such as new housing programs to address the current economy, multi-family housing programs, single-family housing programs, understanding credit, predatory lending, tax credits, first-time homebuyer down payment assistance and more. The registration fee for the workshop is $25 per person, which includes breakfast, lunch and training materials.
