St. John’s Episcopal Church, which is known for its blessing of the animals in October, is including a Blessing of the Golf Bags at the new 8 a.m. service this Sunday (April 11), according to the Rev. June Johnson, interim rector. This service of Holy Eucharist will be in addition to the weekly 10:30 a.m. worship service. Golfers who would like to worship before hitting the links are encouraged to bring their golf bags to the 8 a.m. service at St. John’s, 516 E. Broughton St. in the Bainbridge historic district. “We welcome to both services golfers, non-golfers and anyone looking for a church home,” said Johnson.
