Funeral services for Willie C. “Zeke” Battle, 64, of Thomasville, Ga., were held Saturday, April 24, at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Thomasville with the Rev. Darnell Lundy officiating.
Interment followed in Magnolia Cemetery in Thomasville with friends of Mr. Battle’s family serving as active pallbearers.
Born Dec. 16, 1945, in Thomasville, Mr. Battle died on April 16, 2010, at his residence.
A lifelong resident of Thomasville, Mr. Battle retired from B&B Electric Company. Earlier in life, he had worked with F&W Farm Supply for more than 20 years.
He was preceded in death by a child and a grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Earline Battle; five sons, Reginald Johnson, Willie C. Battle Jr. and Kenneth Battle, all of Thomasville, Demetrius Battle of Fort Braggs, N.C., and the Rev. Charles Wilkins of Tallahassee, Fla.; four daughters, Dorothy Smith of Tallahassee, Donna Battle of Birmingham, Ala., Shirley and Nakisha Battle of Thomasville; two sisters, Mary Crawford of Thomasville and Annie D. Robinson of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Brooks Robinson Jr., Jimmy Robinson and Joseph Robinson, all of Thomasville; 18 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
