Well, this is the final stretch for the “Canine Cookie Jar” fund-raiser for the Bainbridge Humane Society.

The jar is now at Godwin’s Jewelers and will stay there until May 8, the day before Mother’s Day, when winners will be announced by a representative of the shelter.

For a $1 donation, you are given the opportunity to guess how many dog biscuits are in the cookie jar. With this small price that you pay, you could win great prizes for your Mom, while helping the shelter animals.

All prizes will be awarded and all proceeds will go to the Humane Society.

A grand prize of a $75 Wal-Mart gift certificate was donated by the Junior Mall.

A first-place prize of a $50 Godwin’s Jewelers gift certificate was donated by Godwin’s.

A second-place prize of a $50 Macys.com gift certificate was donated by Cat’s Pajamas pet sitting services.

A third-place prize gift item was donated by Southern Trading and Pawn.

Runners-up prizes will be a Bible donated by the Book Nook, and a dog goodie basket donated by Kimberly’s Pet Salon & Country Kennel.
