Swamp land in Georgia

Have I got a deal for you. This is the first letter I’ve ever written to a newspaper, and I’m certainly no wordsmith, but if you bear with me, I’ll try to set my point across.
The headlines of the (April 14th edition of The Post-Searchlight) was that the county commissioners (by unanimous vote) plan to buy some 16 flooded properties.
I have never personally invested in any swamp land and certainly don’t want the County Commissioners spending my (Taxpayer) money in that way. Especially during this recession when school teachers and other public workers are having to take furloughs and cuts in pay.
If this is the combined wisdom, leadership and guidance of our County Commissioners than I think it may be time for a completely new set of commissioners. And don’t tell me the money is coming from different sources.
All government money comes out of the taxpayers’ pocket.
Everyone talks about cutting government spending, well I think this would be one cut that wouldn’t hurt anyone except those people that built their home in The Swamp.
