Funeral services for Lucius “Luke” Johnson, 78, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held Tuesday, June 22, at Spring Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating.
Interment followed at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born June 6, 1932, in Seminole County, Mr. Johnson died on Friday, June 18, 2010, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.
Mr. Johnson was a contractor for many years, a well known farmer and affectionately known as, “Luscious Luke” to many. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his infant son; his brother, Brad Johnson; and his sisters, Gladys Johnson Kroll and Ruthie Hill Maxwell.
Survivors include his daughters, Sheilah J. Kirkland, Debra J. Bennett and Martha Anne King, all of Bainbridge, Eve Yarbrough of Americus, Ga.; his twin brother, Lowell Johnson of Lake Seminole, Ga., and his brother, Joe Johnson of California City, Calif.; his sisters, Sissy O’Hearn of Donalsonville, Ga., and Pearl Schnick of Arlington, Texas; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a step-grandson and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge was in charge of arrangements.
