Four students from Bainbridge were among the 27 students who received General Educational Development (GED) certificates at the recent graduation ceremony of the High School Equivalency Program (HEP) at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Norma Aleman Reyna, Antelmo E. Mejia, Veronica Pina Ramirez and Detmar Tomas Mendez, all of Bainbridge, completed the program. The HEP program assists in the preparation and successful completion of the GED diploma exams. The program is designed to meet the special needs of migrant and seasonal farm workers and their dependent children by helping them to obtain the equivalent of a high school diploma and subsequently gain employment or enter an institution of higher learning or vocational training.
