The Bainbridge High School Choral Boosters are sponsoring a chili cook-off contest and dinner as one of the first fund-raising events to help send members of the concert choir to the Smoky Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg, Tenn., the first weekend of May. Choral director Clarissa Jacobs said this is the first time the choir has had the opportunity to attend the festival. The goal is to raise $12,000 in order to cover transportation, room and board, admission to dinner theater production and festival registration fees. The dinner will be held at the high school at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21. Tickets are $5 and diners may eat in or take out. Persons interested in entering the cook-off or getting more information may contact Jacobs at 248-3988, or Randall Terry at 400-5089.
