Vasta Yarbrough

A funeral service for Vasta Yarbrough, 89, of Bainbridge, was held Tuesday, Feb. 22, at First United Methodist Church of Bainbridge with the Rev. Randy Moseley officiating and concluded at the church.
Interment was at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Yarbrough was born Feb. 5, 1922, in Decatur County, Ga., the daughter of Alonzo Joseph Bolton and Nellie Adeline Baker Bolton. She died Feb. 20, 2011, at Riverside Place.
She was a graduate of Pine Hill High School, Class of 1939, and Georgia State College for Women. Mrs. Yarbrough was a retired homemaker and business partner in Yarbrough Farms. She competed and judged in the American Rose Society for more than 40 years. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church where she taught kindergarten Sunday school for 48 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.L. “Homer” Yarbrough Sr.; her brothers, Graham Bolton and Joseph Bolton, and her sisters, Rebecca B. Eilenberger, Mary Ann Richards and Vera Bolton.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, H.L. “Butch” Yarbrough Jr. and Beth of Bainbridge; her daughter and son-in-law, Leah McLain and Tony of Montgomery, Ala.; her sister, Nelle B. Whatley of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Ansley B. Yarbrough and his wife, Meg, of Bainbridge, Erin Y. Dare and her husband, Aaron, of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Meleah L. Dollar of Bainbridge; her great-grandchildren, Bolton Alexander Yarbrough and John Ashton Bedsole, both of Bainbridge.
