Bainbridge Public Safety has arrested a suspect in last Monday’s home invasion robbery on Broughton Street.
On Friday night, BPS investigators arrested Eric Dewayne Hall, 32, of 1507 Arthur St., Bainbridge, in connection with the robbery on the 600 block of Broughton Street last Monday at about 8:30 a.m. Two elderly victims were injured by a man who forced his way into their home and after demanding their valuables, pushed them down onto the floor.
Hall is charged with two counts of robbery, burglary, false imprisonment, aggravated assault on a person over 65 and aggravated battery on a person over 65.
A second person, 24-year-old Kenyatta K. Jackson, was also arrested Friday night in connection with the case.
BPS Chief Investigator Frank Green said Jackson was in possession of a cell phone that was taken from the victims in the home invasion. Jackson is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and theft by taking. Green said investigators have not yet been able to recover the contents of a purse stolen from the female robbery victim, who suffered a broken hip when she fell.
Other agencies assisting in the investigation of the home invasion include the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, the Tallahassee Police Department, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
According to Green, Hall was arrested in Bainbridge. When asked why Florida law enforcement agencies were involved, Green said he could not comment further.
However, Green said a cash reward is still being offered by the Decatur County Citizens Against Crime fund for any information citizens might have about the home invasion.
