Brock receives USG award

Janet Brock, a senior early childhood education major from Bainbridge, Ga., was awarded the University System of Georgia’s Academic Recognition Day Outstanding Scholars Award for 2011 at the Albany State University Annual Honors Day Program on March 25.
The USG Academic Recognition Day Outstanding Scholars Award acknowledges an individual who exemplified excellence in academic achievement and personal development. This honor is bestowed by the University System of Georgia to a deserving student who exemplifies that which is best about the University System of Georgia.
The Academic Recognition Day award is resolved by the Georgia House of Representatives, Resolution 243, and by the Georgia Senate, Resolution 280, and sanctioned by the Chancellor of the University System of Georgia.
Brock was also awarded the 2011 Highest Ranking Senior in the College of Education in the discipline of Early Childhood Education by the Department of Teacher Education.
