Funeral services for Allie Mae “Weddie” McCall, 96, of Bainbridge, were held Saturday, May 7, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Bainbridge with the Rev. John H. Wooden officiating.

Interment followed in Pineview Cemetery in Bainbridge with Tyrone Bush, Tommy Henderson Jr., Willie Pittman, Reginald Swan Jr., Willie Wade and Maurice Williams serving as active pallbearers.

Born Sept. 2, 1914, in Seminole County, Ga., Mrs. McCall died on April 30, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Napoleon McCall Sr.

Called “Weddie” by her family and friends, Mrs. McCall was born in Seminole County, Ga. She had six brothers and sisters. At an early age, she joined St. Matthew M.B. Church in Seminole County. After marrying in 1932 and moving to Bainbridge, she worked at Memorial Manor. She became an active member of Cornerstone Holiness Church and loved to visit other area churches. Just before her health declined, she joined her family by moving her membership to St. Paul M.B. Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Christine Robinson and her husband, David; stepchildren, Ann Johnson of Dayton, Ohio, and Napoleon McCall Jr. of Water Port, N.Y.; a sister, Ethel Mae Evans of Detroit, Mich.; a granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, several dedicated nephews and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins and loved ones.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
