The funeral service for Charles L. Waters, 80, of Bainbridge, who died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Memorial Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Medley officiating.
Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thomasville.

Mr. Waters was born Jan. 3, 1931, in Spence, Ga., the son of Charlie Milton Waters and Relia Maude Holly Waters. He was a graduate of Cairo High School, Class of 1950, and was a manager for Independent Life Insurance Company, retiring after many years of service. Mr. Waters was a member of First Baptist Church and also a member of the Tommy Wheeler Sunday School Class. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
Mr. Waters was preceded in death by his wives, Margaret Rayburn Waters and Dorothy “Lou” Waters.
Survivors include his sons, Steven Waters and his wife, Nancy, of Smyrna, Ga., and Phillip Waters of Grand Prairie, Texas; his sister, Shirley Singletary and her husband, Edward, of Cairo; and his brothers, Donnie Waters and his wife, Joyce, of Quinlan, Texas, Dennis Waters and his wife, Vicki, of Rincon, Ga., and Max Waters and his wife, Sandy, of Thomasville.
