A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Annie Imogene Bonner Cooper, 85, of the Recovery community in Decatur County, was held Monday, August 1 at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Bainbridge with Rev. Wayne McDonald officiating.
Born June 29, 1926 in Parrish, Ala., Mrs. Cooper passed away Friday, July 29 at her home in Recovery.
Mrs. Cooper was the daughter of the late Sidney Ray and Willie Morris Bonner. She moved to Decatur County, Ga., in 1975. She was a member of Recovery Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. For many years, she was a cook at Wingate’s Lodge.
Survivors incldue her children, Virginia Ray Combs and her husband, Robert Valentine, of Melbourne, Fla.; Gerald Wayne Hatcher and his wife, Tamara, of Recovery, Ga.; Jerry Cooper and his wife, Ann, of Recovery; and Mike Cooper and his wife, Peggy, of Sycamore, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Donations may be made in Mrs. Cooper’s honor to the American Cancer Society, 323 Pine Avenue, Albany, Georgia 31701.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
