Writing assistance workshop scheduled
The Decatur County School System will host a parent involvement workshop in September, for parents who would like tips on how to help their children become better writers.
The workshop, “Georgia High School Graduation Test Writing Test 411: Helping Your Teenager Practice Writing, Even Though They Would Rather Be on Facebook,” will be offered free of charge. The workshop will be Tuesday, Sept. 13, from either noon to 1 p.m., or 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Decatur County Support Center at 507 Martin St. in Bainbridge.
Workshop organizers said the timing is appropriate, because the test will be administered Sept. 27 for first-time juniors and seniors who need to pass. Passing the GHSGT writing test is a requirement for graduation in the state of Georgia.
