BHS basketball teams hard at practice

The Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats 2011-2012 basketball teams are practicing for the upcoming season.
Bearcats head coach Rickey McCullough is working with both teams while Lady Cats head coach Kelvin Cochran completes his football coaching duties.
The teams will host a preseason scrimmage Tuesday, Nov. 15, against Early County at the Bainbridge High School Gymnasium. The girls game will begin at 6 p.m. and the boys game will follow.
The Bearcats and Lady Cats will open their regular seasons Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and Nov. 26, at the Leon County Thanksgiving Tournament in Tallahassee, Fla.
Their regular season home openers will be Tuesday, Nov. 29, against Pelham at the BHS gymnasium. The girls game will begin at 6 p.m. and the boys game will follow.
Returning starters for the Bearcats are 6-foot-3 forward Rodney Glenn, who is still with the football team, 6-foot-5 senior forward Trea Kelley, who missed several late season games due to injury last season, and 5-foot-11 inch junior post Dontavious Baulkman.
Also slated to see duty are 6-foot-2 forward Paul Chukes and 6-foot-5 inch post Dillon Thomas.
Three other players, who are still with the Bearcats football team — 6-foot junior guard B.J. Cheatem, 6-foot junior guard Rashad Kelly and 5-foot-11 senior guard Quincy Fortson, will also see action.
Top returning starters for the Lady Cats are point guard Briana Wade, forward Takia Crankfield, center Diamond Bouie and forward Rashana Jackson.
