Lady Cougars 3rd in tournament

Emma Heard made the All-Tournament team while helping lead coach Mike Harrell’s Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars to a third-place finish in the recent Corey Jones Invitational Basketball Tournament in Asfhford, Ala.
The Lady Cougars completed the first half of their season with an 11-3 record.
In the Dec. 20 game against the Randolph Southern School Lady Patriots, from Shellman, Ga., for third place in the tournament, Heard scored nine points as the Lady Cougars broke a team scoring record with a 73-49 victory.
Lady Cougar Rachel Harrell took game scoring honors with 26 points.
In other tournament action on Dec. 19, the Lady Cougars defeated the Northside Methodist Academy Lady Knights from Dothan, Ala., 44-28, and lost to the Abbeville Christian Academy Lady Generals from Abbeville, Ala., 49-41. In earlier regular-season games, Grace Christian downed the Ashford Academy Lady Falcons from Ashford, Ala., 44-42, on Dec. 15, and defeated the Southwest Georgia Academy Lady Warriors from Damascus, Ga., 47-25, on Dec. 16.
Emma Heard helped lead the Lady Cougars over Northside with a 13-point effort. She was followed by Christy Colvin with seven and Rachel Harrell with six.
In their win over Ashford. the Lady Cougars were led by Rachel Harrell with 21 and Jocelyn Jacobs with 10.
Heard led with 12 and Jocelyn Jacobs added nine points for the Lady Cougars in their win over Southwest Georgia Academy.
