Services for Betty Christine Knight, 81, of Whigham, were held on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Union Springs Baptist Church in Whigham, Ga., with Rev. Haskell White officiating. Interment was in Union Springs Church Cemetery in Whigham. Mrs. Knight passed away on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Southern Pines Retirement Home in Thomasville, Ga.

Mrs. Knight was born on March 20, 1930, in Brooksville, Fla. to the late Lamar O’Neal Folds and Eula Eola Peters Folds. On May 22, 1945, she married Louis Elbert Knight, who preceded her in death on June 25, 1996. She was a retired secretary with Knight and Son Construction. She was a member of the Union Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Elbert Knight; her daughter, Sonya Yvonne Knight; her sisters, Louise Welch and Edna Wells.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Kathy and Jimmy Maxwell of Whigham, Sherry Knight of Cairo, Ga.; son, L.E. Knight of Whigham; grandchildren and spouses, Kimberly A. Maxwell of Whigham, A. Jerod and Sarah Maxwell of Calvary, Ga., T.J. Warfield of Whigham, and Katelynn and Patrick Williamson of Climax.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Union Springs Baptist Church, 355 Union Springs Road, Whigham, GA, 39897.
