A memorial service for Anne O’Hara Wells, 93, will be held Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Grubbs and Rev. David Rich officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour before the service, beginning at 1 p.m.

Mrs. Wells was born Oct. 4, 1918 in West Point, Ga., to Barney Maston O’Hara and Kate Ragsdale O’Hara. She died Jan. 5, 2012, at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, Ga. She was married to Ross Jackson Wells for more than 50 years before his death in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Judy Austin.

Survivors include her children, Melodee (JoDee) Henry and husband, Buster, of Quincy, Fla., Barbara Dukes and Billy Wells, both of Bainbridge; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Cox Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
