The memorial service for Milton F. Daniels, 89, of Bainbridge, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Grace Church with Rev. Andy McQuaid officiating. Interment will be held at Oak City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Church, 1300 Lake Douglas Road, Bainbridge, GA 39819 or to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 1323 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA 39817.
Mr. Daniels was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Raleigh, N.C., the son of Milton Francis Daniels and Rhoda Iverson Daniels. He died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The son of a Presbyterian minister, he attended Toccoa Falls Bible College and Carlisle Military Academy. Mr. Daniels had a long career as a ceramic tile contractor in Savannah, Ga., and enjoyed sailing and tennis for many years. He was a long time member of Grace Church.
Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by his wife, Marie W. Daniels.
Survivors include his daughters, Rebecca DeSha-Johnson and her husband, Gary, of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Marian Monk and her husband, John, of Bainbridge; his sisters, Nan Harrison of Charlotte, N.C. and Rhoda Quarles of Miami, Fla.; his three granddaughters, Heather DeSha of Waldo, Fla., Holly DeSha of Clearwater, Fla. and Jessica Monk of Bainbridge; and his great-grandson, Sebastian Blanquet of Clearwater.
