Bishop to speak on Black History

U.S. Rep. Sanford D. Bishop Jr. will be the keynote speaker at the 24th annual Black History Month observance held on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m. at First African Baptist Church, 515 Webster St. in Bainbridge.
The 2012 National Black History theme is “Black Women in American History and Culture.” The church’s board of religious education will recognize and pay tribute to black women in the Bainbridge-Decatur County community who are currently giving distinguished service in leadership positions.
The public is invited to attend this occasion, and supper will be served.
