Services for Mr. Walter Robert (Bobby) Phillips, 58, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Al Wilbourn will be officiating. Eric Phillips, Mathew Phillips, Greg Phillips, Robbie Phillips, Ricky Phillips and Tommy Phillips will serve as pallbearers. The interment will be held at White’s Bridge Cemetery in Brinson. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel.
Walter Robert Phillips was born Aug. 6, 1953, in Miller County, Ga., to Maston O’Neal Phillips and Ruth Donalson Phillips. He died Wednesdy, Feb. 8, 2012, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He worked as a heavy equipment operator. Bobby has been married to Chirl Jenkins Phillips for 15 years. He loved to fish, go camping, and watch old Westerns. He and Chirl enjoyed riding motorcycles. Bobby would tell you one of his greatest pleasures was going to Biloxi, Miss., to gamble.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Neal Phillips, a sister and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Chirl Phillips; children, Scott Phillips, Neal Ingram, Peresia Haire and husband, Joey, Pam West and husband, Wyndell, and Paula Kirk and husband, Dean, all of Bainbridge; brothers, Wilson Phillips of Fort Gaines, Ga., and Maston Phillips and wife, Pat of Colquitt, Ga.; sisters, Dollie Childree, Lois Wilburn and husband, Al, Katie Dasher and husband, Jack, and Myra Strang and husband, Jim, all of Bainbridge; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
