Top boys and girls track teams from Georgia and Florida will be here Saturday competing with the Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats in the third annual Larry Clark Invitational Meet at the Bainbridge High School track.

It will be the first meet competition of the season for the Bearcats and Lady Cats. They were supposed to open last Saturday at the Tift County High School Blue Devils Invitational Meet in Tifton, Ga., but the event was rained out.

The Clark Invitational Meet, which gets under way at 9 a.m., honors Decatur County Sports Hall of Famer, Jones Wheat Elementary School principal and long-time highly successful Bearcats track coach Larry Clark, who still works with the team.

Highlighting Saturday’s field will be the defending State Class AAA champion Carrollton High School Trojans and the defending State Class AAAA champion Tift County High School Blue Devils.
