The Friendship House will host a “Men’s Night Out” this Thursday evening, featuring a free movie screening, a cookout and door prizes.
The “Men’s Night Out” is the non-profit organization’s way of reaching out to men in the community, said Pastor Jimmy Adamson, executive director at the Friendship House.
The free event starts at 6 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium at the Friendship House, located at 220 N. Russ St. All men ages 15 years old and up are invited to attend.
There will be a hamburger cookout with “all the fixings,” Adamson said.
The hit movie “Courageous,” which has a theme of fatherhood, will be shown in the auditorium. Door prizes will be given out at the end of the movie.
According to a news release, “Courageous,” the third theatrical release by the Albany, Ga.-based Sherwood Pictures, tells the story of four men with one calling: to serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, they are confident and focused, standing up to the worst the streets have to offer. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them is truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.
