Bainbridge Public Safety is looking into a report of possible injuries to an infant who was brought into Memorial Hospital on Thursday night, Chief Investigator Frank Green said Friday.
Shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday, BPS officers were notified that a 2-month-old girl had been brought in to the emergency room at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge. The infant was subsequently transferred to Tallahassee (Fla.) Memorial Hospital by ambulance, according to an incident report.
As of Friday, the baby girl was still in serious condition at the Tallahassee hospital, according to Green.
“We were called due to the circumstances surrounding the baby’s condition,” Green said. “At this time, we don’t want to speculate on the case.”
Green said BPS is being assisted in the investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Decatur County Department of Family and Children Services.
