Howard Darley, 88, of Bainbridge, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012, at his residence.
The funeral service was held on Monday, August 20, 2012, at Delwood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Andy Hall and the Rev. Doug Hall officiating. Interment was at Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery, with Brandon Baba, Durwood Pollock, Tommy Pollock, Jeff Winland, Butler Darley and J. E. Foister serving as active pallbearers.
Mr. Darley was born Sept. 11, 1923, in Homestead, Fla., the son of Warner Green Darley and Rena Pollock Darley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during World War II. He was a general contractor and draftsmen for both residential and commercial buildings. Mr. Darley was a member of Delwood Baptist Church.
Mr. Darley was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lee Smith Darley; and his son, Stacey Darley.
Survivors include his daughter, Judith Gibbs of Turlock, Calif.; his brothers, Donnie Darley of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Talmadge Darley of Homosassa, Fla.; his grandchildren, Lisa Baba, Bryan Darley and Dena Darley; and his seven great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
