Harris County tops BHS, 10-2

The Harris County High School Lady Tigers softball team scored 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning Friday, in Hamilton, Ga., to overcome a 2-0 deficit and down the Bainbridge High School Lady Cats, 10-2.

The Lady Cats, members of the new Region 1-AAAAA Sub-Region B, took a 2-0 lead over the Lady Tigers, who are members of Sub-Region A, in the top of the fourth.

Pitcher Brooke Bates was hit by a pitch with two outs in the top of the fourth.

She moved to second on a passed ball and scored when Caitlyn Dunlap reached on an error.

Dunlap went to second when second baseman Maegan Harrison drew a walk, and scored on an error.

A grand slam home run and a three-run home run highlighted the Lady Tigers’ 10-run bottom of the fourth.

The Lady Cats, who are now 7-4 for the season, had their Monday scheduled home game against Berrien County postponed by rain.

They will return to action today, Wednesday, Aug. 29, when they travel to Cordele, Ga., for a 5:45 p.m. game against the Crisp County High School Lady Cougars.
