Bearcats win Invitational

Coach Lisa Enfinger’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats topped a 27-team field to win Saturday’s Bearcats Invitational Meet on the school campus.
Her Lady Cats finished seventh. The girls meet was won by the Thomasville High School Lady Bulldogs.
The Bearcats were led by Chase Harris, who finished second in the 246-runner 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) run, in a time of 16 minutes, 50.87 seconds.
The top spot in the boys field was captured by Josh Mason of Albany’s Westover High School Patriots, who finished in a time of 16:39.13.
The Lady Cats were led by Paige Braswell, who was second overall in a time of 21:17.94. Her sister Amber Braswell was fourth, with a time of 21:42.48.
The girls championship was captured by Ericka Taylor of Westover’s Lady Patriots. She finished in a time of 21:04.15.
Other strong Bearcats finishers were Jevante Ross, who was ninth in a time of 18:24.51; Brad Cox, who was 15th in a time of 17:39.79; and Bennett Enfinger, who was 20th in a time of 19:01.77.
Other strong Lady Cats finishers in the 153-runner girls field were Caitlin Cato, who was 45th in a time of 25:17.94, and Rebecca Conner, who was 46th in a time of 25:19.60.
The top two times in the boys middle school two-mile run were captured by Bainbridge runners Caleb Harris and Carson Inlow.
Since a student has to be seventh grader to run for a school, Harris, who is a sixth grader, ran “unattached” and finished in a time of 11:56.76. Inlow, running for Bainbridge Middle School, finished first in a time of 12:08.32.
The top Lady Cats middle school finisher was Madison Wiggins, who was 26th in a time of 16:28.47.
