City suspends athletic director

Stanley Bell, the athletic director for the City of Bainbridge, has been suspended from his job, City Manager Chris Hobby confirmed Tuesday.
The suspension is pending further review and/or appeal and no final action has been taken, said Hobby, who declined to elaborate, saying it was an internal personnel matter.
The suspension stems at least in part from a complaint that had been filed against Bell earlier this week.
Before working in Bainbridge, Bell spent four and a half years as program and youth sports director at the Albany Recreation Department.
Before being named the Bainbridge athletic director, he was Leisure Services adult sports director and head lifeguard at the Potter Street Pool.
Bell is a 2002 graduate of Bainbridge High School, where he played baseball and football.
