New Memorial Hospital physicians are accepting patients

Memorial Hospital and Manor is pleased to announce the addition of Katherine Wiegman, M.D., Prysca Ngalame, M.D., and Kerwyn Flowers, D.O., to the hospital’s active medical staff. Also, Jarrod Wiegman, M.D., has begun working as a hospitalist at Memorial Hospital and Manor, providing inpatient care.

Katherine Wiegman, M.D.

Katherine Wiegman, M.D., opened her practice in internal medicine and family medicine last month at Memorial Medical Center.

A native of Carrolton, Ga., Wiegman graduated magna cum laude from the State University of West Georgia in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Pre-med. She received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in 2008.

Wiegman is married to Dr. Jarrod Wiegman, a hospitalist at Memorial Hospital and Manor, and they have a 10-month old daughter. Appointments with Dr. Katherine Wiegman may be made by calling (229) 243-4235.

Jarrod Wiegman, M.D.

Jarrod M. Wiegman, M.D., began working as a hospitalist at Memorial Hospital and Manor last month.

He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree and received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Family Medicine.

He is a native of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and is married to Dr. Katherine Wiegman. In collaboration with other staff hospitalists at Memorial Hospital and Manor, Dr. Jarrod Wiegman will provide care to patients admitted to Memorial Hospital and Manor and will not treat patients outside the hospital.

Prysca Ngalame, M.D.

Prysca Y. Ngalame, M.D., opened her family medicine practice in the office with Dr. Katherine Wiegman at Memorial Medical Center, 603 Wheat Ave., in Bainbridge.

Ngalame (pronounced Gal-ah-may) graduated summa cum laude from Benedict College in Columbia, S.C., with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore in 2008.

Ngalame and her husband, Ebot, are proud parents of a 3-month-old baby girl. They are both natives of Cameroon, in West Africa. Ebot is self-employed as a financial auditor and tax accountant in Bainbridge. Appointments with Ngalame may be made by calling (229) 243-4235.

Kerwyn Flowers, D.O.

Kerwyn L. Flowers, D.O., opened her practice in family medicine this month at 509 Wheat Ave., Suite A, in Bainbridge.

A native of Quincy, Fla., Flowers graduated from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She received a Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Flowers is board-certified in family medicine.

For the past two years, Flowers has worked as a family medical physician in private practice at Sacred Heart Medical Group, in Panama City, Fla. As part of her osteopathic training, she offers manipulation therapy for back and neck pain, as well as other musculoskeletal complaints.

New medical office building

When a new primary care office building, Amelia Medical Plaza, opens next spring, these primary care physicians will be in practice together, along with Omar Al Haddad, M.D., Ileana Popa, M.D., and Shawn Surratt, M.D.

Al Haddad opened his family medicine practice in Bainbridge last year. He received his medical degree at the Jordan University of Science and Technology in Irbid, Jordan, in 2004. He is board-certified in family medicine.

Al Haddad was born in Syria and lived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before moving to the United States. Appointments may be made with Al Haddad by calling his office at (229) 243-3361.

Popa has practiced internal medicine for several years in Bainbridge. She is a native of Romania and received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine & Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine.

She is married to Ovidiu Popa, M.D., an OB/GYN specialist in Bainbridge. Her office is located at 503 Wheat Avenue, Suite B, in Bainbridge. Appointments may be made with Popa by calling (229) 246-7688.

Surratt received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Central America Health Sciences University in Belize, Central America. He also graduated from Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Fla., with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management. His office is currently located at Memorial Medical Center, Suite 700.
