8 Bearcats in Border Wars game

Eight senior members of coach Ed Pilcher’s 2012 Bainbridge High School Bearcats football team have been selected to play in the Southwest Georgia-North Florida “Border Wars” Senior All-Star game on Saturday, Jan. 12, in Moultrie, Ga.
Kickoff will be at 2 p.m. at Moultrie’s Mack Tharpe Stadium. Admission will be $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Bainbridge’s offensive selections to the team are center Cole Granato, right guard Aquivius Carroll, running back Terry Lewis and wide receiver A.J. Miller. Bearcats making the All-Star team’s defensive unit were end Darryl McGee, free safety Dontavious Baulkman, strong safety Devin Hubbard and linebacker Marshall Mack.
Lewis, McGee and Baulkman were also selections to the first-team All-Region 1-AAAAA team.
Lewis had 141 carries for 1,119 yards and 13 touchdowns. McGee had 70 tackles — 44 solo and 26 assisted — and 10 tackles for a loss. Baulkman led the Bearcats in tackles with 93 — 59 solo and 34 assisted — and had four tackles for a loss.
On the second-team All-Region 1-AAAAA defense was Mack, who had 87 tackles — 53 solo and 34 assisted. Granato, an honorable mention All-Region 1-AAAAA selection, won the “Bearcat Award” for his outstanding play and team leadership.
