Virginia Moore, 74, of Bainbridge, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Salem Baptist Church, with Rev. Ed Harrell officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Thomas Cemetery with Lindsey Merritt, Stephen Henry, Rick Ruark, George Strickland, Mike Floyd, and Johnny Moore serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Ivey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moore was born Aug. 12, 1938, in Climax, the daughter of Joe Brantley Ritter and Louise Strickland Ritter. She worked for BP-Amoco Fabrics for more than 20 years and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Moore; her daughter, Susie Linares; and her granddaughter, Emily Moore.
Survivors include her son, James Hunter Moore of Bainbridge; her daughters, Vickie Dianne Boyle and Audrey Yates, both of Bainbridge; her sister, Eva Overstreet of Mississippi; her son-in-law, Leo Linares; her grandson, John Merritt and his wife, Chasity; her granddaughters, Stephanie Henry, Jackie Moore Valencia, Olivia Moore, Guadalupe Linares, and Laura Moore; her great-grandchildren, Hunter Valencia, Peyton Valencia, Piper Valencia, Lili Merritt, Nicholous Merritt, Micah Moore, and Chloe Stewart.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
