Cinco de Mayo to benefit animals

A Cinco de Mayo celebration to help the helpless will be held at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 516 E. Broughton St., on Saturday, May 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is a carry-out dinner featuring favorite Mexican recipes, such as chili, beans and rice, soft chicken tacos, soft beef tacos, nachos and toppings, all for $6 per plate. Tickets are available from the Bainbridge Humane Society, Cat’s Pajamas (229-400-5610), First Port City Bank, Handyway and Animal House. All proceeds benefit the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society and Marley Memorial Spay/Neuter for Cats.
