BSC building expansion is more good news

Decatur County and the surrounding area got some good news earlier this week, when Bainbridge State College announced it has received state funding for a $3 million expansion to River Birch Hall.
River Birch Hall’s classrooms are primarily used by BSC’s paramedic program and other health-sciences programs. The new expansion will include several state-of-the-art classrooms, computer labs, faculty offices and a student gathering space.
The expansion is just more good news for BSC, which in the last year has started an expansion of its library, the addition of four-year baccalaureate programs, a name change and conversion to a state college, and the planned construction of a center in Donalsonville, Ga. BSC officials hope that they will soon be able to announce funding for a new 60,000-square-foot academic building in the near future, as well.
Thanks to the expansion of River Birch Hall, BSC students will be even more well educated to meet the needs of the health care industry and other science-related industries. These are jobs that pay well and provide much-needed services to our entire community, and we are excited that BSC is continuing to meet these important needs.
