Stanley R. Barber, 65, of Brinson, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, at his residence.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Calvin Arnold officiating. Interment will be at Brinson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bill Barrineau, Cliff Hutto, Bill Lewis, Carrol Jones, Nolan Thompson, Jesse Powell, Bob Daughtry and Joe Barber.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the funeral service at Ivey Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Brinson Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 693, Brinson, GA 39825 or Bethany Baptist Church, P.O. Box 672 Bainbridge, GA 39818.
Mr. Barber was born July 16, 1947, in Bainbridge, the son of Roy Barber and Jewel Dean Scott Barber. He retired as a truck driver and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Mr. Barber always enjoyed coffee and time with friends at the Truck Stop, as well as fishing.
Survivors include his children, Stephanie Landeen and her husband, Rick, of Bainbridge, Michael Barber and his wife, Amy, of Brinson, Ronny Lashley and his wife, Teresa, of Bainbridge, and B. J. Vanhousen and his wife, Danielle, of Bainbridge; his brother, Jeff Barber and his wife, Leslie, of Brinson; his sister, Shelva Gibson and her husband, Marlin, of Colquitt; his grandchildren, Gage Crews of Alexandria, Va., Chelcee Crews of Bainbridge, Kameron Landeen of Bainbridge, Mark Lashley of Carrollton, Ga., Spencer Vanhousen of Bainbridge, Preston Vanhousen of Bainbridge and Sarah Musgrove of Bainbridge; and his niece and nephews, Taylor Barber, Jake Barber, and Ed Gibson and his wife Misty.
