Ward-Askew engagement announced

Ben and Kathy Harrell of Bainbridge announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Leigh Ward of Port St. Joe, Fla., to Clinton Tyler Askew, also of Port St. Joe. He is the son of Hollis and Susan Askew of Arlington, Ga.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James D. and Fredda Salter and of the late Clarence and Virgilene (Bryant) Goad.
She is a 2003 graduate of Bainbridge High School, received an associate degree from Bainbridge College in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics in 2008 from the University of Georgia. In 2012 she received a Doctorate of Pharmacy from Florida A&M University. She is employed as a pharmacist at CVS Pharmacy in Port St. Joe.
The groom-to-be is the grandson of Bud and Phyllis Brownlee, the great-grandson of Gladys Lowery, all of Arlington, and of the late David and Rachel Askew Jr.
He graduated in 2006 from Southwest Georgia Academy and in 2010 from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, with a minor in Business Administration. He is employed as an insurance agent with Hannon Insurance in Port St. Joe.
The wedding is planned for Oct. 12, at 4:30 p.m., at Lafayette Park, in Apalachicola, Fla. The reception will follow at Rivercrest Lodge, in Apalachicola. Invitations are being mailed.
