Softball teams fall to Lee County

Bates pitches well in loss
The Lady Cats’ ace junior pitcher, Brooke Bates, pitched six solid innings in a 1-0 loss to Lee County on Thursday, recording three strikeouts.
The Lee County Lady Trojans scored their only run of the game on a sacrifice fly in the third inning.
Anna Barber, Laura Griner and Caitlyn Dunlap each had one single in the game, while Bates reached base on a walk once.
JV falls to Lee County
The BHS junior varsity softball team had some trouble facing off against the Lee County JV Lady Trojans on Thursday afternoon, losing 7-1.
Lady Bearcat Ty Gant scored BHS’ only run in the second inning, when she stole home. Gant had four stolen bases in the game.
Tori Sprenkle had a single and a double for the Lady ‘Cats, while Mary Trawick and Taylor Swanner also singled. Reilly Fletcher reached base on a walk.
Swanner, a multiple position player who has found herself the JV Lady ‘Cats starting pitcher, pitched five innings and struck out four Lady Trojans. None of Lee County’s runs were earned.
