After a valiant and courageous battle with a lengthy illness, Carolyn Hansford Sexton, 68, a resident of Havana, passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2014 and entered the heavenly kingdom while surrounded by her loving family.

A daughter of Thomas Edward and Eva Davis Hansford, she was born Feb. 5, 1946 in Alliance, Florida. She was a faithful member of Evangel Assembly of God and loved her church family. She also loved Southern Gospel music. A homemaker, she loved to garden, cook, and took a lot of pride in her home and family.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Morgan Sexton of Havana; daughters, Sheila S. Price of Crawfordville and Cheryl Guy of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Taylor Bailey, Elleree Guy, Alli Guy, Hayden Guy, James M. Sauls and Mikayla Price; great-granddaughter, Chloe Bailey; sisters, Donna Green, Debra Starks, Wanda Mills, Ada Hagler and Teresa Mayo; brothers, Tommy Hansford and Charlie M. Hansford.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Edward Hansford; sisters, Anna Margaret Hansford and Dorothy Weeks; brothers, Harold Hansford and William E. Hansford.

The funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 at Evangel Assembly of God, with interment in Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
