Climax Golden Agers play guessing game with baby photos

Now let’s see, who could that be as a baby? Is it____…or maybe it is____…I thought they looked different just a few short years ago!”
Remarks such as this were just some of the comments made as the Climax Golden Agers pondered over the large group of baby pictures spread out before them at the June 17 meeting.
Trying to guess who was who in baby pictures was quite a job as many found out. Several guessed three or more out of the more than 18 pictures, but Sandra Sirmons was the winner, getting the highest number of nine correct.
Before the fun time with the pictures, President Alma Hart called the meeting to order and gave the devotional about trust. Hart said one may trust in first one then another, but we should trust in God. She quoted from Proverbs Chapter three, verses five and six: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.”
Trust is a simple yet lovely word in that it means freedom, and letting go, she said. A favorite hymnal was, “Tis so sweet to Trust in Jesus.” She read from a short story about listening to the still small voice and trusting in it. She shared a story about a couple adopting a child. Alma read how the couple came from another city to meet the birth mother of the child they wanted to adopt. But alas, the birth mother could not give her baby up and this left the couple devastated.
The young couple chose, she said not to judge the birth Mother instead to trust in God, wait quietly, and within a year twin baby girls were born and the young couple was the chosen family for the adoption. They had lost one and God gave them back two, Alma said.
She went on to say there are many unknowns and struggles in life. “Let go completely and trust in God. Live openly and trust. Jesus will work His will out.” She said.
Alma shared her personal experiences about her family adoptions and shared pictures, now she said she was a proud great grandmother! “Just trust,” she concluded.
